Applied Science
Applied science is the application of scientific knowledge that transferred into
physical environment. Always known as applied science. There are many examples of applied science, in which
the two most common examples are the solving of practical problem through using of natural science and the
testing of theoretical model through using of formal science. Applied sciences, on the other hand, are in
close relation to the fields of engineering. It is a relatively important sector in the development of
technology and is often known as the research and development (R&D) in the industrial settings. Applied
science is different from fundamental science because in fundamental science, people learn only the most
basic knowledge and emphasize lesser on the practical applications. <??>
In Singapore, all of the polytechnics offered Applied science courses. Students
can study their science diploma in any of the five polytechnics. Among all the polytechnics, the courses
offered may differ from each other. Some polytechnics may have this particular science course, but the rest
of the other polytechnics may not have. The most common and popular science courses include the, food science
and nutrition, baking and culinary science, biomedical science and pharmaceutical science
course.
Upon graduation, an Applied science student may have a higher possibility in
working as a medical technologist (provided he/she is in the biomedical science or interested in it) and also
some other high paying jobs. This will be beneficial to them in a way or another
