Cyber and Digital Security  

In the first year of Cyber and Digital Security course, students will learn about the fundamentals of information technology of Cyber and Digital Security. Students will get to study and discover how computers are misused and how design counters measure against criminal intrusion. They will undergo courses on penetration testing and ethical hacking so as to secure information assets and learn how to conduct computer forensics and check compromised systems of Cyber and Digital Security.   

In the TP-IBM centre, Cyber and Digital Security students will be able to have hands-on practices on the state-of-the-art facilities. These facilities serve to protect and defend computer systems from misuse. Not only that, students will also be taught courses on the designing and auditing of security policies, applying knowledge of information technology and enhancing controls with the use of biometric technologies like iris scans and fingerprint. Eventually, they will establish the Cyber and Digital Security skills on their projects and future work with different groups of people. 

In the last year of the Cyber and Digital Security course, students of Cyber and Digital Security will be posted to different companies for their internships. Some may even have the chance of going overseas for their attachment. This is to train them to be more familiarised with the working world and be independent workers after Cyber and Digital Security. Most importantly, the students will be able to gain some working experiences and get a taste of the many happenings in the working world. Upon graduation from Cyber and Digital Security, students can advance their studies in local or overseas universities.          

Apart from that, the Cyber and Digital Security course also prepares their students in attaining professional certifications in information technology security, open source technology and networking, in the process positioning them to be a future information technology security professional.
