Hotel management and its part now. In the modern 21st century, hospitality industry has been
growing leaps and bounds. The demands for trained labor in this industry have immense over the years. More
and more people are interested in getting a job in the hotel management line. So, what exactly are the jobs
offered in the hotel management line?
The two main jobs in the hotel management include:
The Manager Position
The job of the hotel managers is to be accountable for the profitable and efficient operation of the organization’s
establishments. For the position of a general manager in hotel management, they will take controls of the finances,
establishing the norms that the staffs are required to follow so as to give the best services to their guests, the
quality of the food, the housekeeping, décor and interiors. Different from a general manager, an assistant manager
are responsible in supervising the daily operations of the various departments. Some of the hotel may even have
resident managers to resolve problems. Last but not least, the department managers are to work under the guidance
and supervision of the top management.
The Front Line
The staffs in the front line of hotel management are the people who are in charge of welcoming
guests into the hotel. In the front line, there will also be an office manager that is responsible in
supervising the work of a reservation clerk, information clerk, receptionists and other service employees such
as doorman and bell boy. The job of the bell boy in a hotel management line is to help the guests with the
luggage when they are arriving, checking in and departing.
There are however more jobs in the hotel management line which includes the Food & Beverage
(F&B), housekeepers, marketing departments and etc
