Interactive Media
Interactive Media happens as audiences these days prefer more livid animations and visual
simulations, interactive media has now become more and more popular in the media industry. Interactive media
is an integration of different digital media which includes a combination of text, moving images, graphics,
effects and sound that transform the entire experiences one can get from a digital computerized environment.
Digital environment can include technologies such as access to the internet, interactive digital televisions
and telecoms.
Under the Singapore’s “Media 21” master plan, the government aims to transform the country into
an interactive Global Media city that aims to develop and train professionals in interactive media. This
master plan will allow different industries such as education and defence technology to employ high-tech 3D
technology to create interactive educational tools and create 3D images to market defence technological
products respectively. In addition, the architectural and construction industries will be able to leverage on
this master plan to conceptualize sophisticated 3D designs that allows their clients to walk through
Interactive Media buildings virtually even before they are built.
As such, this “Media 21” master plan will greatly enhance the interactive media capabilities of
our nation and therefore this will also result in a high demand for graduates in interactive
media.
Interactive Media will teach you the knowledge of creating and using 3D applications that you
can apply to create interactive visual simulations. You will also be taught the skills to link them to
different hardware and software systems. Prior to graduation, students will be posted to different industries
of their preference to enable them to apply what they have learnt in school to the respective industries that
they are interested in.
