Lunch Box
Programme

Lunch box programme is a newly
launched programme to encourage students to bring home cooked food and fruits to school, for consumption during
lunch. The objective of the programme is to encourage students to consume healthier home prepared food instead
of the oily food sold in the school canteen.
This lunch box programme will
first be extended to students in the Trim and Fit (TAF) Program, whose Body Mass Index (BMI) are slightly
overweight. They will be advised what kind to food, vegetables and fruits to bring to their Lunch box programme
daily. In addition to this lunch box programme which aims to provide them with a healthier diet, students under
the TAF program will also undergo specially tailored aerobics exercises to help them lower their BMI to the
acceptable range.
If this initiative of Lunch box
programme proves to be successful, the school may consider extending this programme to the rest of the students.
In order not to jeopardize the sales of the canteen stall holders, the stall holders will be encouraged to add
more vegetables to their dishes and use less oil when cooking. Students who are unable to prepare their lunch at
home can alternatively buy the healthier dishes sold by the school
canteen.
In order to achieve a healthier
lifestyle, in addition to the lunch box programme, the Parental Support Group (PSG) has also agreed to sponsor
all students fruits, in a bid to encourage healthier living in the school in conjunction with the Lunch box
programme.
