Marine Engineering
Marine engineering is a course in Singapore Polytechnic. Marine engineering is the studying of designing,
operating, installing, constructing and supporting of systems and the equipment which uses to control and propel
vehicles in the Marine engineering and also the systems which create vehicles and structure habitable for cargo,
passengers and crews. <??>
Marine engineering is a 3 year course which includes a 2 and a half month of industrial training program. The
course structure is modularized so as to give, provide, and enhance learning and flexibility of the course
design.
Students in marine engineering will undergo training in the fully equipped laboratories and workshops. They will
have some hand on practices in there, which gives them opportunities to learn something out of it. They will also
be trained through the 2 and a half month industrial training program in an approved industrial organization. Apart
from that, they will be taught on other things like fire prevention, elementary first aid, survival techniques and
even social responsibility in this course as well.
Upon graduation from marine engineering, the students’ future aspects will be wide-ranging. With their Marine
engineering experiences, practices and potential, it will not be a difficult task for them to look for jobs. Their
Marine engineering career prospects are so wide and bright because of their unique ability in adapting as the
business and technology activities changes from time to time. If they are interested in furthering their education,
they can also continue their studies in engineering related courses which many universities are offering
currently
