Product Innovation 

The definition of product innovation varies from person to person. There is no definite answer what is product innovation. To different people, product innovation can have different meanings. There are also some people who analyze “product” and “innovation” separately. Production innovation may also refer to an introduction of something new; often mean a new idea, device or method. 

To some individuals, production innovation may also mean a development of new products, changes in design of products or use of new components or materials. To put in a simple way, anything which is fresh, new or originates to the market and product range is considered as product innovation, regardless of whether the similar products are seen elsewhere in the market.   

Generally, production innovation is important. It is one of the significant stages in making a product. In fact, product does not come by so easily. Every product that is in the market need to be makes. Therefore, in the very beginning, there must be production innovation.     

However, in this modern society, most of the people do not really goes about inventing new product from scratch. They could rather spend time and work on the existing ranges of products and made improvement on it than on product innovation. These may be in fact easier than having to invent a completely new product. In other word, more and more people are starting to have a narrow view of production innovation.  

To summarize and recap what has been said on product innovation, product innovation can be either a completely new product in a new field of technology that is making from stretch, a modified version of an existing product or an absolutely new model in the existing product.
